Banaili
Banaili is regarded as one of the largest estates of Bihar and it also covers different region located in India that is West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar.
History
Similar to Raj Darbhanga, this was also headed by the Karn Kayasthas. The name of this estate has been derived from Banaili village and then it has been taken from Bengal Purnia Bengal district. The main residential centres of Banaili Rajas include- Ramnagar, Champanagar, Garh Banaili as well as Sultangarh. The administration of this estate has been carried out by the Bhagalpur centre and one of the most prominent centres is situated at Sultanganj. However, it is believed that this is known to have the mythical and historical association. The palace of Krishnagarh was built by Singh Kumar Krishnanand at Sultanganj and that comes under Karnagarh area. It is believed that this used to be the place where castle of the Karna King of Mahabharata had been situated. However, the roots of Bahadur Raja Dular Chowdhry Singh can be easily traced till eleventh to twelfth century as it was done by Girijanand Sinha.
The family has achieved its royal eminence in 19th century who made this Banaili as its residential palace and also gave its family the current name. He was regarded as the enterprising Raja and also added enormously to the wealth of his family by using different opportunities that were afforded through permanent settlement through Lord Cornwallis Charles and then in Bengal state. He has also received the Raja Bahadur title by the government of British for providing his immense services especially during the time of Anglo Nepalese war.
