Nargona Palace

Nargona palace has been located at the Darbhanga state, Bihar, India and this was the last palace that was constructed in Raj Darbhanga.

History

The Darbhanga city is regarded as the major cities that were destroyed during the killer earthquakes that came in year 1934 and had completely hit Bihar northern part. Moreover, it had completely destroyed the entire city. There are palaces in Darbhanga that have also suffered huge damages. Palace of Moti Mahal had been completely destroyed during the earthquake. Ram Bagh and Anand Bagh Palace have been severely damaged and they were rebuilt after earthquake. Darbhanga Maharaja Singh Kameshwar had decided to do the construction of new palace and that included the hi-tech technology of earthquake resistant. Moreover, this palace had also incorporated resistant features when it was constructed and its ability of withstanding the same was demonstrated during the year 1988. It is India's first building that has incorporated the technology of earthquake resistant.

Architecture

This palace has been constructed in a simple looking way and does not comprise of any outstanding features and it has got the amazing ability of withstanding the earthquake. However, there are no additions made for adding any unnecessary features that would beautify this building. If you are the first time visitor, then it may disappoint you a little looking at the plain but enormous building. This palace comprises of enormous surrounding garden along with the orchards and is office head building of the Raj Darbhanga had been donated in year 1972 to Bihar government for the purpose of establishing the university. Now, this Narayan Lalit Mithila University has become the donation beneficiary and it functions from these building.
