Bella Vista
The palace of Bella Vista in the city of Hyderabad is a royal palace of the Nizam. The palace has been christened as Bella Vista by a French architect, which means beautiful sight. This is because from the palace one could see the Hussain Sagar Lake and the palace was able to provide a beautiful view of the lake at that time. The palace is located in the Saifabad suburb. The palace is now the home of the Administrative Staff College of India.
History
It was in the palace of Bella Vista that Hyderabads heir apparent Prince of Berar, stayed. Other prominent visitors of the palace had visitors such as Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It was constructed in the year 1910 by Muslehuddin Mohammed. It is an Indo-European building which is sprawled in a 10-acre campus.
Architecture
The name Bella vista means beautiful sight. Its architecture is similar to that of the Henley-on-Thames of England. It has been built in Indo-European style of architecture. It was Nawab Mir Himayat Ali Khan, Azam Jah Bahadur who was the eldest son of the 7th and the last of Nizams also stayed in this palace.
