Navlakha Palace
Navlakha Palace is also popular by the name of Naulakha Palace and it is located at Rajnagar town near to Madhubani that is in Bihar.
History
This Palace has been constructed by Rameshwar Maharaja Singh who belongs to Darbhanga. However, this palace had also suffered extreme level of damages that occurred during 1934 earthquake and then it was never rebuilt. At present, this palace is completely ruined and the only ancient surviving painting is of Madhubani that was completed during the year 1919 and also the marriage occasion of Laksmi Shrimati Daiji who was the Rameshwar Maharaja Singh's daughter. However, there are very few records in writing and very few photographs of this Navlakha Palace. According to Late Professor Umanath Jha, this Navlakha Palace has been located near the Kamla River on eastern banks. In north of the prime entrance of this palace campus, have a portion that is referred to as the Durga Bhawan. This is the southern part of this palace and it faces the eastern direction and comprises of a big pond. On its northern part, there is Goddess Kali’s marble temple and it is widely visited by many people.
Architecture
This temple will be forming the most integral part in this building and it had been constructed in wide hall and also comprises of 2 storied high ceiling. Its hall is used for the purpose of music recitals and dance. Its middle part comprise of the 7 storied high towers. Its Durga temple is still operational and there are extensions that have been crumbled. On west side of this Durga Bhawan, there are rectangular buildings that have 3 courtyards and this building is regarded as the portion for ladies. On its northern part, there is a white colored 2 storied Elder Queen palace.
