Samode Palace
The Samode Palace is a beautiful monument which is a symbol of infused architectures. The 475 years old beauty is surrounded by bougainvillea gardens, eye-catching mirror work, painted walls and adorned arches. The intricate architecture on its walls is worth seeing for oneself. The Palace has now been converted into a popular hotel where tourists come to enjoy a luxury stay.
History
The palace was first built way back in the 16th century as a fort for the Rajput under Rawal Barisal. The Samode Palace was once the residence for the Chief Minister of the Royal Court in Jaipur. The architecture of the palace is impressive.
The palace was built on a not so big hillock which is a sight worth seeing. Today the palace has been converted into a huge hotel which offers luxury accommodations to travelers. The limited rooms create an intimate experience which allows enchanting glimpses to those who enjoy Indian royalty. There are many arrangements made for music shows and traditional dances during the evenings in the palace grounds.
Architecture
The fine example of just how regal the Mughal work was is best seen here. The masterpiece is a beautiful blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. This Palace is without a doubt charming with its stately corridors and ethereal halls all showing for the master craftsmanship.
Initially the Samode Palace had 32 rooms which spoke about the lavish life the Royal Rajashtanis had. The central courtyard and the beautiful furnishings were well kept. All the rooms have beds with four-posters for lounging right under the articulate Mughal arches. The fortress also covers the beautiful Durbar Hall. The Durbar Hall has been quite a tourist attraction mainly because of beautiful furnishing.
The Samode Palace also encompasses the royal Sultan Mahal as well as the much heard about Sheesh Mahal. The Sheesh Mahal has its designs done in fine Meenakari. The enameling is done thoroughly with mirror work. The walls are mostly decorated with frescoes.
