The Sankh River starts flowing across Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand as well as Odisha. It flows for 200 kms distance and then it meets with River Koel located at Odisha.
Course
This river starts thousand meters above the sea level from Lupungpat village and is located at Gumla district present in Jharkhand state. It flows for 67 kms in this state and then it enters Chhattisgarh. It covers a distance of 50 kms in Chattisgarh and then it enters Jharkhand for next 76 kms. This river finally enters Odisha after covering a distance of 40 kms and merges with Koel. The Southern Koel will be entering into Orissa and then it joins Sankh River in Vedavyas which is situated near Rourkela and there it is known by the name of Brahmani (22°14′45″N 84°47′02″E). The Sadni falls has an elevation of 60 meters (200 feet) that falls on Sankh River at the edge of Ranchi plateau.
