Bhilangna River

The Bhilangna is one of the most famous and popular rivers in India. Also, it is one of the Himalayan Rivers in Uttarakhand, India. Bhilangna River is also a main tributary and the main basis of the Ganges River of India. Bhilangna River rises at the foot of the Khaling Glacier with a height of 3,717 meters about 50 kilometers south of the ice cavern at Gaumukh, conventionally measured the foundation of both the Ganges and Bhagirathi as well as streams into the Bhagirathi at Old Tehri where the Tehri dam is located.

The Bhilangna River meets the main tributary, the Bal Ganga at Ghyansali with the height of 976 meters. Bhagirathi River is a river that can be found in India. The Bhagirathi River is an unstable Himalayan river in the region of Uttarakhand, India which is the main torrent of the Ganges – the main river of the Gangetic plain on the North of India and the Holy River of the Hindus.

Course

The Bhilangna River rises at the base of Khatling glacier with height of 3,717 meters about 50 kilometers south of Gaumukh. This river surges from its source from 205 kilometers prior to it assembles with the Alaknanda River at a height of 475 meters in the Devprayag town. Under this convergence measured sacred by the Hindus, Ganga Ji is what the river is called or even Ganges River especially by the western world.

Tributaries

Bal Ganga

The Bal Ganga whose headwaters are created at the base of Mount Kukhli Dhar with the height of 4,600 meters, it has a small stream, the Dharam Ganga, which unites it at Thati Kathur at the height of 1,524 meters.

Bhagirathi River

Bhagirathi River originates from Gangotri glacier in Uttarakhand. It is a highly turbulent river.

Tehri Dam

This is one of the most controversial dams ever in the whole of India. Well, the Tehri dam lies at the convergence of the Bhagirathi and Bhilangna at 30o78o28’48”E closest to Tehri.

Khaling Trek Route

The Khaling Trek path gets ahead of next to the Bhilangna, beginning from the end point available by route, Ghuttu, till the glacier, that positions at 3700 meters. Should in case one goes far on the track before the glacier, you might get to Kedarnath.
