Dhalai River
The Dhalai River which is also known the Dhalai River is a trans-border river located in India as well as Bangladesh.
The coordinates of Dhalai River are 90º58’8 E and 24º37’0” N in degrees minutes seconds (DMS) or 90.9667 and 24.6167 (in decimal degrees). The UTM position of this river is BN92 while the Joint Operations Graphic reference is NG46-13.
The river is seen predominantly in Bangladesh. The landscape where it flows is considerably higher than the sea level by approximately 19 m.
Course
The Dhalai River increases in the mountains of the Tripura state in India. Also, it goes into Kulaura Upazila which is a town in the Maulvi Bazar region of Bangladesh. After that, it meets the Manu River in Rajnagar Upazila.
Agriculture is the major livelihood of the citizens of this region. The major crops grown in the region are rice, jute and pineapple. One of the main commerce of the region is the pineapple juice meditation plant of North Eastern Regional Agriculture Marketing Corporation Limited (Neramac) at Nalkata in India. Also, the people in the region are also occupied in making handiwork.
