Alkananda River
The Alaknanda River is a Himalayan River of India. This river is located in the region of Uttarakhand which is part of the two main streams of the Ganges. It is also a main river of Northern India as well as the Holy River of the Hindu people. Alaknanda River rises at the convergence and bottom of the Bhagirath Kharak and Satopanth glaciers in the Uttarakhand state. Also, the stream of the Saraswati River flows from the Mana Pass. 3 km beneath Mana, the Alaknanda River streams passes from the center of Badrinath which is the famous Hindu pilgrimage.
The Alaknanda River meets another river called the Bhagirathi River at Devprayag after it streams approximately 118.1 meters from side to side the Alaknanda valley. The major branches of the Alaknanda are Nandakini, Pindar, and the Mandakini rivers. Also, the river uses up some parts of Tehri, Chamoli and also Pauri regions. After the union at Devprayag, Alaknanda River was also called as Ganges. So many people love to visit the Alaknanda River because of the exciting times they have there. In folklore, the Goddess Ganga moved down to soil at Gangotri which is the original basis of the Bhagirathi prior to the Gangotri Glacier moved away to its present setting at Gomukh. The Alaknanda River is widespread to have torn off from the outer space Ganges when it moved away from heaven. There are so many tourists who find the foundation of Alaknanda River to be interesting because they are able to stop over the significant Uttarakhand pilgrimages.
On the part of the Tibet boundary in India, the Ganges ascends in the south of Himalayas. On the Satopanth Glacier 6km up from Alaknanda’s foundation at its nose, what is brought into being is the Lake Satopanth which comes in a triangular form and is 4350m in height. Both the glacier and the lake got their names in respect of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva who are the Hindu trinity. Uttarakhand is one of the main towns on the Alaknanda River.

Badrinath
This is a town at the end of the Alaknanda which is considered a holy destination for Hindus. Badrinath is sandwiched by two mountains ranges of Narayan and Nar as well as Neelkanth peak which are located behind it.
Dams
About 37 hydroelectric dams operate on and being constructed to obstruct the stream of the Alaknanda River as well as its branches to produce power or electricity. The cities alongside the banks of Alaknanda River include the Chamoli, Badrinath, Vishuprayag, Joshimath, Nandaprayag, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag.
Also, at all towns that have the prayag suffix, Alaknanda unites with another river.
