The Alaknanda River meets another river called the Bhagirathi River at Devprayag after it streams approximately 118.1 meters from side to side the Alaknanda valley. The major branches of the Alaknanda are Nandakini, Pindar, and the Mandakini rivers. Also, the river uses up some parts of Tehri, Chamoli and also Pauri regions. The Alaknanda River is widespread to have torn off from the outer space Ganges when it moved away from heaven. There are so many tourists who find the foundation of Alaknanda River to be interesting because they are able to stop over the significant Uttarakhand pilgrimages.

On the part of the Tibet boundary in India, the Ganges ascends in the south of Himalayas. On the Satopanth Glacier 6km up from Alaknanda’s foundation at its nose, what is brought into being is the Lake Satopanth which comes in a triangular form and is 4350m in height. Both the glacier and the lake got their names in respect of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva who are the Hindu trinity. Uttarakhand is one of the main towns on the Alaknanda River.
