Bakullahi River

The Bakulahi River the other name for which is Baklahi River has its origin from the Bharatpur Lake. The river is based in the Rae Bareli District in the State of Uttar Pradesh in India. The river is much known for its course, origin and it is known to be a life giver to the people living in and around the area. The bank of the river is immensely populated and the adjacent area is appositely fertile. Thus, the land is aptly suitable for agriculture. This is known as one of the most primitive river system and you find the mention of this river in the Vedas.

The Baklahi River is adorned for its ancientness and you can find the name of the river being mentioned in epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana. Historically the river is known by the name of Balkuni. However, presently it is notable with the name of Bakulahi. The reason for naming the river as Balkuni is its huge content of pebbles and sand. These days a bridge has been constructed on the river of Bakulahi just over the Bakulahi Temple. You have several adventurous tales associated with this river of great mythological significance.
