Subhash Bridge
Built near the famous Gandhi Ashram in Ahmadabad city at a distance of mere 1.5 km, Subhash Bridge is equally an important landmark in this city. This bridge has greater roles to play to make the lives of people inhabiting in the residential areas in the nearby regions easy. It also proves supportive for the local residential areas and so does this bridge benefit the residential societies located in the nearby areas. The bridge literally has a distinction of uniting the separated areas of this city and Sabarmati River at the eastern portion of the urban localities.
This bridge is named after the prominent freedom fighter, Subhash Chandra Bose to honor him through such developmental initiative. Inaugurated in the year 1973, Subhash Bridge is a modern bridge in Ahmedabad which also encountered a worst flood situation in the same year the bridge had been constructed. Interestingly, this bridge survived the worst 1973 floods and remains in good condition till date.
Connecting the west side of Ahmedabad city or Sabarmati-Vadaj area with east side or famously called Madhopura-Shahibag Area, Subhash Bridge remains one of the most important links for the two areas. Authorities took concrete steps in the year 2000 to widen this bridge further by considering the ever increasing traffic in this city.
