Chamravattom Regulator Cum Bridge
With an aim to benefit the masses in this region, Chamravattom Regulator-cum-Bridge had been developed as a highly perceptible project in the extreme southern state of India, Kerala. This project is denoted with many names such as the famous Chamravattom Palam, Bridge and Chamravattom RcB among others.
This bridge has been developed across the prominent Bharathapuzha or Nila River in state's Chamravattom region. With a length of 978m and 10.5m wide, this regulator cum bridge distinguishes itself as the largest bridge project in Kerala whose two major trade centers namely Ponnani and Tirur are linked through it.
Having been inaugurated for common people on May 17, 2012, Chamravattom Regulator-cum-Bridge is the most recent project which has literally written a new developmental history in this region. Some notable benefits of this project are its role to ease irrigation related issues and simplify the road infrastructure. Road distance of the cities of Kochi and Kozhikode has already reduced to approximately 38 kilometers that make a big difference. With an investment of approximately Rs. 130 crores, this project was started in 2009 and became operational in less than 5 years itself.

The area housing Chamravattom Regulator-cum-Bridge project is geographically coordinated at 10.82085°N 75.959108°E. As an integral part of Chamravattom regulator, this project is geographically crucial who's other name Ponnani-Tirur Bridge is also famous in the region. Geographically, it comes under the Malappuram region of Southern Kerala state.

It is the key aspect where strictness had been maintained while the project was in full swing. Use of concretes to develop the 978m long bridge indicated a long run plan to maintain its durability.

Although modern infrastructure is used to develop Chamravattom Regulator-cum-Bridge but its theme seeks attention of all and sundry. It is said that an ancient saint called Sambaran used to meditate on the Nila River banks at Sambaravattom on whose name this project denotes. Quality concrete material has been used to develop this bridge project identified as a largest of all Kerala based river bridges. Notable element is that it can easily store +6.00 MSL water to use for irrigation.
