Big Star Entertainment Awards

These awards are given away every year so as to felicitate big wigs from the categories of entertainment such as music, television, movies, theatre, sports and dance by Reliance Broadcast Network Limited in partnership with Star India. It is considered to be very different from the similar awards as in these awards audience participation is there right from selections to the final winners with the help of SMS and online voting from the various categories is made use of in deciding the winners.

History

It was the Reliance Broadcast Network in partnership with Star India who created a collaboration to create a unique platform which is now popularly known as Big Star Entertainment Awards. The awards were the brain work of RBNL's marketing firm Big Live. The first ever award was held at Bhavan's Grounds in Mumbai on 21 December 2010. The awards were put into motion in a ceremony in which Arshad Warsi unveiled the statuette of Big Star Entertainment Awards.

Awards

In BIG Star Entertainment Awards, there are were supposed to be 21 categories with eight categories for the mainstream Hindi films, 4 for the Hindi television programmes and 9 awards which were given away to honor the best shows and personalities of the 2000-2010 Decade. Since the awards are in their 4th edition, the ceremony is scheduled to take place on 18th December 2013 at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai.

It is indeed a great way to honor as well as felicitate those we love in the film industry.
