Anandalok Awards

Anandalok Puraskar or the Anandalok Awards as they are popularly known is a very prominent film event given for Bengali Cinemas in India. Anandalok is the only film magazine in Bengali language published by the Ananda Publishers. It is the Ananda Bazar Patrika which presents this Award (Puraskar). It was on 25 January 1975 that the magazine began its first publication by Rituparno Ghosh. Being a periodical film magazine, it is usually published on 15th and 30th of every month. On the other hand, the awards or the Puraskar ceremony was started in 1998.

History

It is touted to be a big entertainment award shows in West Bengal Film and TV industry which felicitates the prominent performers from the big and small screen, be it actors and actresses or directors and music composers. The awards are in their 13th year. Awards are given to the best director, best actress, best actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, best cinematographer, best screenplay, best editor, best art director, best lyricist, best music director,  best female playback, best male playback, most promising director, best make up man, most promising actor, most promising actress and also to the best action hero.
