Sathyamangalam is a small city  in Erode in Tamil Nadu, India. It is about 70 km away from Coimbatore city. Previously it was formerly a part of Coimbatore District, but later it became the part of Erode District when it was constituted in 1979.The  very famous Bannari Amman Temple which is devoted to the divinity Bannari Mariamman, is situated12 km away from the Sathyamangalam town. Half of its portion of the forests was affirmed as sanctuary in 2008. Under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1973 Sathyamangalam became the name of a Reserve Forest also. It also has a major National highway namely ,  NH 209 which connects Coimbatore to Bangalore . It is a class-3 town .Sathyamangalam town is situated on the south of the Western Ghats, which expands towards the east from the Nilgiri mountains. The nearby Bhavanisagar Dam is a very popular a picnic spot & Bannari Amman Temple is a pilgrimage centre. It is situated on the distance of around 65 km from Erode. The nearest Railway Station is Mettupalayam . It is also linked with Bhavani Sagar , Gobichettipalayam,  Bhavani  , and Mettupalayam. . Its nearest airport is located at Coimbatore which is 68 km in distance.
