Mumbai, a destination where dreams come true! It is a part of the Konkan division in the state of Maharashtra. With no administrative head quarters, this region forms a prominent part of the Mumbai Metropolis along with the Mumbai (suburban) region. Referred to as the island city, it is the popular South or Old Mumbai part. This region sprawls from Sion and Mahim in the north to Colaba in the south. Earlier, it was known as Bombay but later it came to be known as Mumbai. It was ruled by Kolis, Marathis and Agris, but later on the power passed on to Islamic rulers. After several hands changed, the power came to lie with the Portuguese. As a part of the Royal Dowry, later in 1661, the city was given to the Britishers when Portuguese princess married King Charles II of England.

The climate of the place stays moderate throughout the year because of its proximity to a large water body. Humidity increases by several notches during monsoon months when the city experiences lashing rains for days together. The area is well developed with modern infrastructure and basic amenities available to all. This region is no doubt progressing at a fast pace.
