Kichha is both a tehsil and municipal board located in the district of Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, India. With an average height of 293 m, this tehsil is covered by countless villages like Badora, Bandia, Khurpia Farm, Malpura, Narayanpur, Maharajpur, Sirouli and Lalpur to name a few. This town was earlier counted under Nainital District. There is no much difference in the ratio of male and females in the tehsil. Average rate of literacy in Kichha is higher than national average. However, female literacy rate is just the half of male literacy in the region. More and more numbers of people are now opting higher education and this further improves ratio of literate people in the town.

Hindus form major part of the population while Muslims constitute remaining ratio. On the other hand, Tharu Buxa tribe is now confined to quite a few numbers of villages who were previously spread in the entire region. Official language of the tehsil is Hindi, however, local people also speaks Garhwali. Education facility is also available in the town and children can also move to nearby region for acquiring higher educations. In recent years, this tehsil has undergone many developments projects that brought not only progress but also expansion.
