Kattumannarkoil  is a taluk headquarter in Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu. It is a Town Panchayat which was constituted in 1892. It comes under the executive territory of Cuddalore District. It covers 19.425 km2 approximately. It is a famous tourist centre & pilgrim spot. Normally, this area has sub tropical type of climate. A tank called , Veeranam Tank is located nearer to the seaside is about 30 km away from Bay of Bengal. It has summer in March to June, & its maximum temperature contrasts from 30 to 38 C. This area mostly gets the South West Monsoon and North East Monsoon which does not cause much effect in this area. As it is very near to the shoreline, it also gets cyclones which results in severe rainfalls. Two rainfall are located in near this tank, one at its right side i.e. , Kattumannarkoil and 2nd at left side that is , Sethiathope. It has around 55 villages & the town panchayat has 18 wards. MGR Dasan is the president of the town panchayat , & Vice-president is V.Swaminathan. S. Jayanderan is the chairman of the panchayat union . The president of the Cuddalore District panchayat union is S. Silambu Selvi.
