Bilara tehsil of Jodhpur is located at a geographical coordinates of 260 10 45 North to 730 42 20 East. Since its inception, the name Bilara is being called. However, this tehsil is not a major revenue producing area but due to its typical geographical location, importance of his tehsil increases in the administrative setup of the Jodhpur district. Luni and Osian are the neighboring tehsils. Major source of earning of the residents of this tehsil is based on agriculture. However, the entire area faces the problem of irrigation but anyhow the problem is being managed with limited resources. More than 88 villages are in this tehsil. All the villages are well connected with link roads with each other. In the matter of roads, Rajasthan has set an example among other states of the country. In most of the places of link roads spread over this tehsil, state highways and National Highways cross. Presently, government has taken some basic initiatives and the problem of irrigation is being overcome. Latest technologies in this field are being applied to provide the better support to harvesting. Out of 88 villages of this tehsil, some important villages are Bagarki, Bala, Band Jaswantsagar, Banjara, Bankaliya, Bari Kalan, Bari Khurd, Barna, Basni Kaparda and Beejasani.
