In the Amravati region of the Budana district, a tehsil namely Budana is located in the state of Maharashtra. About 500 kms away from the capital of the state, Mumbai, this tehsil features many Bhils, a group of tribals. This tehsil gained a lot of popularity because of several reasons. One of them was the opening up of the Great Indian Peninsula Railway in the year 1863. Though Marathi language is spoken predominantly in this area, Andh, an Indo-Aryan language is also spoken. Since this tehsil enjoys a tropical climate, people prefer wearing cotton clothes. Several prominent rivers flow close to this area and this tehsil is located in the basin area of some rivers. Agriculture is the main source of living and oilseeds, cereals, soybean, sunflower, groundnut, etc are majorly grown. This tehsil is also considered to be the cotton trading district in this region. Basic amenities are available and the citizens lead a peaceful life.
