Rajgir is a city and a notified area in Nalanda district in the state of Bihar in India. The city of Rajgir was the first capital of the kingdom of Magadha state and that that would eventually evolve into the Mauryan Empire. Rajgir is connected to the state capital Patna through Bakhtiarpur by railways and roadways. Bakhtiarpur lays midway between Patna and the village of Mokameh. Road passes through NH 30A to Bakhtiarpur and NH 31 towards south to reach Bihar Sharif. From there, NH 82 will leads to Rajgir. Rajgir is around 100 KM from both Patna and Mokameh. It is situated in a green valley surrounded by impressive rocky hills. Indian Railways run trains directly from Rajgir to New Delhi by the name of Shramjeevi Express.

Rajgir is immensely developed with the passing time as a health and also a winter resort due to its warm water ponds which are naturally present out here. These natural water baths are said to contain some medicinal importance that help in the cure of many chronic and dreaded diseases of skin. This place is also home to the The Saptparni cave which is a major source of the Rajgir Hot Water Springs that have therapeutic and curative importance and is considered to be sacred by the people following the religions of  Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
