This is a small district which is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India .The tehsil does not have a very large population. The population is just about a few thousands. The ratio of men as compared to females is on the higher side. The main form of income for the people of this town is through agriculture. More and more people are going into the nearby town to receive higher education as it is not available in the town currently. The town has medical facilities available but for better advanced health care one has to visit the nearest city.

This tehsil in the Prakasam district needs to see a lot of development. People need to be made aware of the importance of education so that they can send their children to nearby towns to get more education. Only when the children are educated can the future of the town flourish. The literacy rate according to the census report of the year 2001 is not very high just about 56.7%. A lot needs to be done to improve the education scenario in this tehsil.
