This town was earlier known as Ponucherla, in honour of Goddess Pochamma. It was given the name asHuzurnagarunder the rule ofHuzur. The town of Huzurnagar is a taluka which belongs to the Nalgonda district situated in the state of Andhra Pradesh in south India. The town consists of several rice mills.
