The city of Bah is situated in the district of Agra in Uttar Pradesh state of India. The city is surrounded by three tehsils, namely Bah, Pinahat and Jaitpur. The city follows Hindi language and majority of the city follows Hindu religion, followed by Jain and Muslims. Bah is considered to be one place where people do not fight over religions. The people, irrespective of their religious inclinations, celebrate all festivals, especially Diwali and Eid in unison. It is also heard from locals that since India got its independence, there are no fights or clashes due to religions. The main occupation is agriculture which is also the main source of income for this city. However, people tend to migrate to more opportunistic states such as Mumbai, Delhi and some others in search of better living. These cities offer direct transportation services of buses to this city. The city of Bah acts as the educational hub for the adjoining villages and serves as a market place to sell and buy goods. In earlier times, the city was home to some well known defence personnel and dacoits hailing from Chambal, but as the city developed, many sportspersons and educators can now be connected to the city.

Some places to visit

Bah city houses many wonderful places to visit and provides ample sites for the tourists. Bateshwarnath temple of Lord Shiva, which is about 7 kms from Bah city is the biggest attraction. The main temple is connected with 108 series of temples of Lord Shiva which is stationed on the banks of River Yamuna. The local festival that begins in November attracts thousands of visitors and devotees to this place every years from all over the world. The famous Jain temple at Shuripur is also visited by many devotees. There is also a Chambal Safari for all nature lovers, which is an added attraction.
