Delhi Metro
The rapid transit system of Delhi, Delhi Metro is planned to cover Delhi and also the satellite cities around, viz., Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad, making it one of the largest metro networks of the world. It has six corridors covering a distance of 189.63 kilometres (117.83 miles) with 142 stations, of which 35 will be underground stations. This project which is a combination of Elevated, at-grade and underground network will have both broad gauge and standard gauge lines with the rolling stock of following four types:
- Mitsubishi-Rotem Broad gauge
- Bombardier Movia
- Mitsubishi Rotem Standard gauge
- CAF Beasain Standard gauge

The Delhi Metro project is planned to be completed in four Phasesas at present,
- Phase I covering 65.11 km(40.46 mi) stretch, in all the three levels, viz., 13.01 km(8.08 mi) in underground and 52.10(32.37) in surface and elevated levels has been completed. In this phase, Vaishali-Barakhamba road corridor of Blueline was completed in October, 2006.
- Phase II of the network covering 128 km (80 mi) stretch with 79 stations is completed and its first section was commissioned in June 2008 withits last section commissioned in August 2011
- Phase III covering 112 Km and Phase IV comprising of 108.5 km are on schedule to be completed by 2015 and 2021 respectively.
by which time the entire network would have covered 413 km(257mi)
Current Routes of Delhi Metro
Phase I and Phase II have been completed and functional from August 27, 2011, the network comprising six lines with 142 metro stations and a length of 189.7 km (117.9 mi)
