Gonda is a district in the state of Uttar Pradesh which is in the north part of India and this place has a good climate wherein the summers are not extreme and maintains an average of 34 C and Loo which is a hot wind blows during May and early June, rainy season lasts up to September and the minimum temperature that is recorded in the rainy seasons is said to be 1.4 C.

Their main source of income is Agriculture and about 277.77 thousand hectares of land is said to be an agricultural land which is being cultivated. They cultivate oil seed of 16 thousand M T, food grain of 1145 thousand M T, Potatoes of 112 thousand M T, sugar cane of 1254 thousand M T. Apart from this they also produce many pulses, paddy, wheat. There is also an Agriculture Research Centre called the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, there are many rice mills, sugar mills and also they have many small scale industries and also the handicrafts industries is there.

This place is considered to be one among the most backward districts of India and hence is getting funds from BRGF (Backward Regions Grant Fund Program) so as to develop this place.
