Theni is a tehsil in the Theni district of the state of Tamil Naidu of India. It is a hilly area situated on the sloping land of the Vaigai River characterized by dense forest plant and wild animal life. The town is one of the headquarters of Theni district. The city is well connected by both roads and also railways to all the significant cities of Tamil naidu state. Madurai is the nearest airport from Theni.
