PMC is also popular as Pune Municipal Corporation was established in year 1950 on 15th February. This PMC is responsible for controlling whole Pune administration. Executive powers of this corporation are vested in Municipal Commissioner and Indian Administrative Service (IAS). He is appointed by the government of Maharashtra state.

• This corporation consists of few directly elected representatives. These all are headed by Mayor and it has goy executive powers. The PMC is responsible for infrastructure and civic needs of metropolis.
• Pune city has been divided in 48 municipal wards. All these wards are represented through three members. They are also assisted by the Assistant Municipal Commissioner.
