Nawanshahr Tehsil is one of the two Tehsils of the ShahidBhagat Singh Nagar district which was earlier known as Nawanshahr district but later renamed after the revered martyr of the region. It is not very large in terms of area and boasts of an agrarian economy due to the fertile due to its proximity to the Sutlej River. The region is also irrigated well using tubewells as well ascarefully planned canals which ensures good cultivation despite dry climate. The area is also known for several rustic fairs and festivals that showcase the colourful culture of Punjab. This is the perfect destination to visit as the city has plenty of places to visit.
