Mansa Tehsil is one of the three Tehsils of the Mansa district situated in the Southern part of Punjab. It is not very far from the state of Haryana in the south. In the 18th and 19th century the region was a part of powerful Sikh Kingdoms that were later annexed by the British. The area also boasts of some archaeological sites which were a part of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. While the area doesnt have too many heavy industries, the economy is mainly run here by extensive Cotton production and other types of farming. Most of the people of this city are literate.
