Rajapalayam is a tehsil in the Virudhunagar district of Tamilnadu State, which is vibrant with full of industrial activities and also the Taluk head-quarter , having importance because of large manufacturing units engaged in textiles and cement production, besides being a cotton trading centre, also closer to the famous Sri Vaishnavite town Srivilliputhur where a Shrine for Lord Vishnu is situated , while Rajapalayam town lies in the Madurai Tenkasi Road in the National highway No.218, at a distance of 63 km. from Madurai town, the prominent temple town of Tamilnadu.
