Tiruppattur is a town located in Vellore in Tamil Nadu and is one of the oldest towns here. It is located 40 km away fromKrishnagiri, 85 km from thiruvannamalai , 125 km from Bangalore and 85 km from Hosur. It is the 2nd biggest and highly populated town in this district. It mainly small-scale industries & mills. It is an vital commercial center from time immemorial. It used to be a revenue subdivision during British rule and still so. It has Vishnu temples , Old Shiva, and even also Tanks which were built in the period of the Hoysala Dyanasty. It is very well connected by road & rail to other major cities of Tamil Nadu such as Chennai, Thiruvannamalai, Salem, Coimbatore & Vellore & alsoto Bangalore in Karnataka. It is also famous for its Islamic religious circles beacause many immense saints "Awliyas" had made it their home town.

Some of them are even buried at several places in this town, including Hazrath Syed Sha Mohammed, Munshi Hazrath. He was the last among all the saints who have lived & have been buried here .Its name , Tirupattur means a group of 10 villages. It also has two villages namely Aathiyur in which, Aathi means Begin and Kodiyur , where Kodi means End. It is surrounded by several of other villages, making itself a Taluk.
