Information About Karnataka High Court -
The Karnataka High Court has existed from the time of the British Raj when the Princely State of Mysore established the Chief Court of Mysore in 1884. Under its jurisdiction and control were lower courts such as District Courts, Subordinate Judges Courts and the Munsiff court, which is the lowest court that handles Civil cases. The Chief Court then had three sitting judges. The Sessions Court with the District Magistrate and First and Second Class Magistrates judged criminal cases .The post of the highest authority in judicial matters, the Chief Judge, was created in 1930.
After the Indian State of Mysore was named Karnataka in 1973, the High Court of Mysore also got its new name; Karnataka High Court and the Chief Judge has since then been called as the Chief Justice.
