Drang Drung Glacier
This Drang Drung Glacier is also known by the name of Durung Drung Glacier and this is one of the mountain glaciers. It is located nearer to Pensi La Pass Mountains present at Zanskar Road and this glacier is situated in Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil district of India. Ladakh glacier has a maximum length of 22 kilometres. It has an approximate elevation of 14500 feet. This glacier lies in north eastern Himalayan range and it is covered with long rivers of snow and ice. This is also a source for the Stod River and it is a Zanskar River tributary.
Geology
It is easily accessible via Srinagar airport. This is approximately 330 kilometres through bus or car and that will be leading through National Highway 1 and it connects through Leh and Srinagar through towns of Kangan, Dras and Sonamarg. These towns are located just half way distance and glacier will be present on its right side of the Zanaskar and Kargil road.
This passes through Suru River gorge valley and they come under shades of 2 mountain peaks that are Kun and Nun. Once, you have crossed this La Mountain Pensi you can do trekking for 1 day heading towards Drang-Drung Glacier.
