Chandra Glacier
Chandra Glacier is popularly known by the name of Chandra Taal and this means Lake of Moon. It is located at an altitude of 4200 meters in Himalayas. This overlooks the lake present on its one side and gives magnificent view on the other side. Moreover, this glacier has got its name due to its crescent shape and this is situated at Spiti and Lahu district of the Himachal Pradesh. This is one of the most popular places specifically for all the campers and trekkers.
Tourism
You can visit this via Batal and also from the Kunzum Pass and the best time is from May till October. However, this place should not be visited during August.
Trekkers can also visit this place via Batal that is a motorable road and it is located 15 kms away from the Chandra Taal. The roads via Kunzum Pass are accessible only through foot and that is located at a distance of 8 kms via Chandra Taal. There are ample numbers of meadows present on its bank located at plateau of Samudra Tapu which overlooks the Chandra River.
