Jamankira is a town situated in the Sambalpur district of the Orissa state. The tehsil is a small village which is connected by other tehsils of the districts. The people are simple, hardworking and cultural. The place is surrounded by greenery and agriculture and dense forest play important role in the economy of the place. Together with the Oriya and the local Sambalpuri language people speak Hindi and English also. There are schools & colleges offering education but students have to move to nearby cities for higher education. The literacy rate is average.
