A small tehsil located in the beautiful state of Chhattisgarh. The capital of the state is Raipur. Which are a few kilometres away from the tehsil. The tehsil has been on a road to progress and quite a few developments have been seen in the past few years. The government needs to provide the basic facilities in order to improve the condition of the people. The tehsil is still not aware of urbanization and most of the people are still living in rural areas. The main religion of the tehsil is Hinduism with Muslims being a very small percentage. The tehsil needs a lot of development in terms of sanitation, health care facilities and education. The main form of livelihood of the people of this tehsil comes from agriculture. Rice is the main crop that is planted throughout the state. Poverty is a major issue prevalent here and most of the people live below the poverty line without basic facilities. People take up small petty jobs to sustain a living for themselves. The literacy rate of the tehsil is not very high. The males in this tehsil are far more educated than the women here. A lot needs to be done to improve the scenario of Kawardha.
