Guhagar is a small survey town in District Ratnagiri in the state of Maharashtra. The town is well known for its coir products, virgin beach, coconut farms and beetle nuts. The town is mainly known for Haphus Alphanso mangoes. Chiplun is 44kms away from Guhagar and is the closest railway head. In 1990 after the establishment of Dabhol Power Company the economy of Guhagar was increased. Hotel sprung up and residents provided high paid jobs to the residents of Guhagar.
