Pandavapura is a panchayat town in mandya district in state of Karnataka. Earlier this town is known as Dandu, Hirode, and French rocks. The name pandavapura means town of pandavas Evidence says that pandavas during the time of their exile stayed here for some time and kunti mother of them liked this very much and thus this became their favorite haunts. It is believed that the French names the town as French rocks as the town is in the vicinity of two rocky hills. After the independence this is called as kunti betta and pandavapura is approximately 25 kilometers from Mysore and 130 kilometers from Bangalore.
