Hisua is a city and notified area of district of Nawada in the state of Bihar. Majority of the people earn their breads here through agriculture however a number of laborers migrate to Mauritius from this area. It has been found that system of Zamindars and peasants was very much prevalent here in the past decades. The city is a junction or Tilaya at the railway of southern Bihar and is famous for its poets and the talented potteres living here.

Hisua is a densely populated area having an average literacy rate, 51% which is comparatively lower than national average literacy rate of 59.5% with 51% male literates and 49% female literates. It has been found that 18% of the population in Hisua is below 6 years. Interestingly, the premier free block of child labor in India was seen in this city only.

The language spoken by the people of Hisua is Magahi basically, although people also speak Maghi Hindi and Urdu as well. The population of Hisua consists of a number of communities like Brahman, Teli, Yadav, Muslims and Tamoli.
