Noorsarai is a small town in the famous district of Nalanda in the state of Bihar in the country of India. It is situated on the highway joining the two capital cities Patna which is the capital of Bihar and Ranchi which is the capital of the state of Jharkhand. Noorsarai is situated at a distance of 70 km from the state capital Patna. Villages which are located in the neighbouring areas of Noorsarai include Bigha, Charuipar, Muzafraa Belsar, Chandasi, Kheman and Jalalpur. Dayanagar is the prime and main market of the area.

There are a number of schools and colleges in Noorsarai which provides ample provisions of the residents of the town to pursue good education within the city limits. The major schools of the town are M.S.Mamurabad, M.S. Ajaypur and M.S.chandasi. The major colleges of the town are Sadanand College in Biharsarif, Degree College in Islampur and S.H. Mahila College in hilsa. The colleges provide education in the degree level in all major disciplines. But the professional courses are not yet eveloved in the town. If somebody needs to pursue professional courses, themn they have to travel beyond the town limits. There are a number of nationalised banks which have opened there branches in this area and are successfully operating. Punjab National Bank and The State Bank of India are the banks present out in Noorsarai.
