| It is said that derivation of word Buxar is from VyaghraSar. Buxar city is located in Bihar, eastern India. It is situated at the bank of Ganges and also connected to the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh via Road Bridge. Buxar is connected via road and rail to state capital, Patna. According to 2001 census, population of Buxar was 738354 which is a combination of 54% males and 46% females. Literacy Rate of Buxar is unexpectedly high, 72% even higher than literacy rate of entire India. Some of the main attractions of the town which can be visited are Buxar Fort, Chausa Hoard, Bihariji Temple, Brameshwar Nath Temple, Navlakha Temple, etc. As mentioned above that Buxar is famous for its historical importance which consists of two battles first of them was between the mughal emperor Humayun and Sher Shah Suri. And second was the popular Battle of Buxar, it was between forces of British East India company and armies of Nawab of Bengal named as Mir Qasim, Nawab of Awadh known as Shuja-ud-Daula and Mughal Emperor named as Shah Alam II. Buxar covers 1, 62,380 hectares lies over the Border of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and has a moderate climate. Main occupation of people here is agriculture. |
