Hence , the place got its name Krishnarayapuram. It is also known as Sithalavai and one of the railway station is also situated named as Sithalavai(SEV). It is very well known for its agricultural activities. Lot of Banyan & Coconut trees can also be found, surrounding this place which looks very beautiful. The most important crop found , is Betel leaf plants and is transported to many places in Tamil Nadu and even to North India also . Special variety of Brinjal commonly called kodikaal brinjal is very popular. It looks green just because of the presence of the Cauvery river.
