Palani is one city and a tehsil in district of Dindigul of Tamil Nadu, a state in South of India. It is a location of a far-famed temple devoted to god Kartikeya. Every year more than seven million devotees resort this temple. One very impressive back-drop towards this town is formation of picturesque slopes coming from one offshoot of Western Ghats, Palni Hills, where lies an esteemed hill-station, Kodaikanal. These ranges extend east-west towards south of this town, frame it presenting a sight that is most inimitable. Two hills, Sakthigiri and Sivagiri dominate view within this town, on latter lies a much resorted and famous Lord Subrahmanyans temple. Palani is a home for many sacred shrines. A temple located atop Sivagiri is not big but it attracts devotees in large numbers from all parts of India. This tehsil is one centre of one form of Indian traditional medicine, popular by name of Siddha Vaidyam.
