Palladam is a periphery of Tirupur district, in the state of Tamilnadu, India. It is a town panchayet in Tirupur district. The tehsil has an average elevation of 325 meters. Palladam is situated in the east of Coimbatore and near to Tirupur. Tirupur is around 14 kms away from Palladam. Palladam is the gateway to Coimbatore from the eastern part of Tamilnadu. According to the 2001 census, Palladam had a very good literacy rate. The main income of the tehsil comes from Poultry, Textiles, Agriculture, Wind Mill and Stone Crushing. There are many knitting centers in Palladam, from where materials are exporting to different foreign countries. There are many textile mills in and around the tehsilto supply raw materials for the textile industry. Major Indian poultry firms are from this region. Among them Suguna Poultry Farms, Pioneer Poultry Group, Shanthi Poultry Group, Swathi Poultry Farms are very famous.

The tehsil is well connected by roads with Coimbatore city and other surrounding towns. There is no rial and air transport in the tehsil. The nearest airport is Coimbatore International Airport which is around 35 kms away from the town. The nearest railway station is at Tirupur, which is about 14 kms away from Palladam.
