The mandal of sullurpeta is located in the SPSR Nellore district, whose headquarters are found the village of Sullurpeta itself. This is also a municipality. Being located at a distance of about 83 kms only from Chennai, it is sometimes also included under the suburban region of Chennai, with good road and railway communications.
