Nowruz
Nowruz is rejoiced as the Parsee New Year. It is celebrated mainly in Iran and now spread in many parts of the world including Asia and china. Nowruz Parsee New Year is mainly a holiday in Iran which last for 13 days and school also are generally off during Nowruz (Parsee New Year).Nowruz is the commencement of the spring season it is mainly rejoice as the new Yearas noted in the Persian calendar. Nowruz also renowned as Parsee New Year is celebrated on 21st March on yearly basis.
History
Nowruz is formerly a Zoroastrian festival. It is believe the Nowruz; The Parsi New Year is established by the Zoroaster, the originator of Zoroastrians they were often stated as Iranians being born in eastern hill of Iran. The terminology Nowruz first seemed to be appeared in the records of Persian in the second century AD. It is believe to be a significant day as per the Achaemenid which was an Empire in the sixth century of Cyrus. On this day in the Achaemenid empire monarchs from different nations used to visit the emperor and get him lot of gifts. During the Achaemenid days the king Cambyses -2ndwas throne as a King of Babylon and the king was authentic only of his participation in the Nowruz festival.
In the United Nation Nowruz day is labelled as the day of spring festival in the Persian foundation and in 2010 they declared Nowruz day as the international day of Nowruz.
Celebrations & Rituals
Formally the festival of Nowruz (Parsee New Year) is celebrated only in the countries of the acceptance of Nowruz. The first global festival of Nowruz was celebrated in Iran and Tehran. It is also celebrated in countries of Middles east and Asia.
A home cleaning before the spring’s arrival is performed before Nowruz. A special celebration takes place of the Nowruz (Parsee New Year) with the preparation of special meal. Family members gather around the table with half seated and wait for the arrival of the right time for the spring. Gifts are exchanged among friends and relatives on the day of Nowruz (Parsee New Year).
There is a believe that person whatever does on the day of Nowruz (Parsee New Year) impacts the entire year. So it is believe to be caring and sincere with their relatives and friends. As a customary men’s in the community doesn’t shave on the day of Nowruz (Parsee New Year).
As a spread on occasion of Nowruz (Parsee New Year) there is a traditional variety of sweets prepared at home by the Parsee community.
