Safipur, one of the fastest growing towns is situated in the district of Unnao which belongs to the state of Uttar Pradesh. The town carries its own proud history as it is the birthplace for some of the eminent freedom fighters. The town has also given few famous scholars to the Indian society who excelled in Hindi literature and one worth mentioning is Babu Bhagvati Charan Verma who played a remarkable role in the development of Hindi literature. The town's name is derived from a Muslim saint called as Makhdum Sah Safi. This town is a classic example for the religious harmony.
