Stadiums In India - A Journey Towards Sports Promotion
When a game of cricket or football is being played in any of the stadiums in India, people in this sports crazy country, make a beeline for getting tickets, so that they are able to watch the live match in progress. From all the different kinds of sports which are played in the country, cricket is the most sought after game ahead of football. Even the government and the cricket authorities in the country are promoting these playgrounds or stadiums with full support and funds.
Stadiums in India have been therefore having a lot of significance these days. In the light of international matches being played in the country, for mostly cricket, cricket stadiums are being developed with the latest technology and modernised equipments. Presently, almost all the venues where international cricket matches are being played have been adorned with floodlights, so that all the stadiums can host day and night international matches. Even football is being played under the floodlights in the present day scenario. The Salt Lake Stadium and Eden Gardens in Kolkata have such facilities and have both cricket and football matches being organised regularly.
Other stadiums in India like Mohali, Wandkade in Mumbai, Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, Barabati in Odisha, Chepauk and M Chinnaswamy in Chennai, etc are well known for their large sizes, newly ventilated structures, and huge capacity. Plenty of matches are being hosted in these stadiums so that the builders of these complexes can get returns of their spending and also bring out people from infront of their television screens to the live watching of these matches. With the IPL matches in crickets being played for over a month, many Indian cricket stadiums have been restructured and have become a good source of money for the management.
Outdoor stadiums are also being used for football matches, with a few international teams gradually coming to India, as they realise the popularity, money and the fame that can be built up. Although some other sports are not getting as much attention as due to them, gradually the country people and the governments are realising the potential of revenue and need to promote all types of sports. For the successful conduct of any sporting event, it is highly necessary that stadiums in India be of best quality so that the sportspersons are encourage to perform better with better facilities at their disposal. And this will also draw the sports enthusiasts to come and enjoy a game with comfort.
