In the Fatehpur district of uttar Pradesh(india),there is a city and municipal board named Bindki.it is situated at 26.03 degree north and 80.6 degree east,125metres(410 feet) above sea-level and its near-by cities are Fatehpur and Kanpur which are 25km and 58km in distance respectively.Due to its close proximity to ganges and Yamuna rivers,the soil of Bindki and its neighbouring areas are highly rich in minerals and very fertile .

This place has a great historical significance,the name of the city is kept after its ruler Raja Venuki,which explains the antiquity of the place.Its antiquity can also be marked as it is the earliest of the tehsils of Uttar Pradesh.it is also connected with the great uprising of 1857 for independence,as a result of this uprising,on 28april 1858 on Bawani Imly tree of this town fifty two freedom fighters were sentenced to be hanged till death,and now this tree is taken as a war symbol in the town .Other reasons for its historical significance are that this soil have given birth to Jodha Singh Ataiya(freedom fighter),kavi Sohan Lal Dwivedi (hindi poet)

According to the cencus of 2001 ,the population of Bindki is 34,197 where male populationis higher than female which is 58% and47% respectively.Although ,literacy rate is higher when compared to the national average literacy rate which are 64% and 59.5% respectively.Here too the male literacy rate (70%) is higher than the female literacy rate(56%).
